In Landrecies British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 95974 Private William Rivers, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 24/10/1918.

David Sloan tells us that William Rivers was born in Spennymoor. His family lived at Silksworth. He worked for the Post Office.

He is remembered at Silksworth on S111.01 and S111.06
