In Puchevillers British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of TZ/5128 Able Seaman Edward Elliott Copeland, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 14/11/1916.

In Garden House Cemetery, Swalwell, is a family grave which reads:-

Sacred to the memory of
Edward Elliott Copeland
A.B. Hawke Batt. R.N.D.
the dearly beloved son of
Thomas and Isabella Copeland
of Dunston
Died of wounds received in action
at the Battle of Ancre
Nov. 14th 1916 age 19
Interred in Puchevilliers France

He loved the name of duty
more than the fear of death

Also Robert George Tindle Copeland
dearly beloved son of
Thomas and Isabella Copeland
who died March 2nd 1919 aged 25 years
Late Collingwood Batt. R.N.D.
