In Ste. Catherine British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 25/884 Private William Clark serving with the 25th (2nd Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 09/04/1917.

Brenda McMahon has submitted the following :-

William was the son of Thomas and Sarah. He was born in Durham (c) 1880.

He enlisted at Newcastle and was killed in action 9th April 1917 aged 37 years.

He was buried alongside 339 World War comrades in St Catherine Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France which was designed by Sir Reginald Blomfeld.

At the time of his death William’s parents were living at 13 Dodds Terrace, Low Fell, Gateshead.

William Clark is remembered at Low Fell on L61.05
