Grant, J., 2nd Lieut., 1918
In Kirechkoi-Hortakoi Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of Second Lieutenant John Grant, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 24/11/1918.

The son of John and Ann Grant of 21 Saltwell Road, Gateshead, County Durham. A Bookbinder he was Initiated on the 19th May 1916; Passed 23rd June 1916 and Raised on the 15th September 1916. He died of influenza at the Salonika-Hortakoi Road Hospital on the 24th November 1918 aged 29. He is buried in the Kirechkoi-Hortakoi Military Cemetery, Greece, Grave Reference 497.

John Grant is remembered at Gateshead on page 59 of G39.004 and in the D.L.I. Book of Remembrance page 321
