Quinn, P., Pte., 1916
In St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen is the Commonwealth War Grave of 24/506 Private P. Quinn, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 09/07/1916.

John Taylor and Ann Norman have submitted the following:

Patrick Quinn was born in about 1888 in the Parish of Ballinderrin, County Galway, Ireland. His parents were Martin and Bridget Quinn. In 1911 he was boarding with the Dowd family at 28 Eighton Terrace, Wrekenton and employed as a coal miner.

During the war he served as a Private with 24th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Irish), regimental number 24/506. He died of his wounds on the Western Front on 9th July 1916. He is buried in the St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen, France. He is also remembered on Ireland’s Memorial Records 1914-1918. However this states that he was 35 when he died when every other source states he was 28.

He is remembered in Eighton Banks on E50.01 and E50.02
