Auckland Chronicle 24/02/1921
Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in Stanhope, enlisted in Bishop Auckland and that his residence was "Weardale". He formerly served with the Royal Army Medical Corps with the service number 78377.
The Auckland Chronicle 24/02/1921 carries the following:
"Hodgson. In loving remembrance of Willie Hodgson, London Regiment, died on wounds in Palestine, Feb. 21st, 1918. Dearly-loved son of Mrs. R. Hodgson, Ireshopeburn, Weardale."
