In Bishop Auckland cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 10334 Serjeant William James Horlock serving with the "A " Company 1st Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps who died 24/03/1921.

Son of William Thomas and Elizabeth Maria Horlock; husband of Florence Horlock, of 12, Spring Rd., Brightlingsea, Colchester.

The headstone reads:-

In
loving memory
of
William James Horlock
late Sergt. K.R.R.C.
who died March 24th 1921
from wounds received in France
aged 27 years

Ever remembered by
his wife and child

William James Horlock is not remembered on a local War Memorial.
