Morrison, J., Pte., D.C.M., 1915
In Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord is the Commonwealth War Grave of 3138 Private J. Morrison, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 26/06/1915.

The following has been extracted from St. Mary’s Church Newsletter No. 2 for October 1919
Sergeant James Morrison
Front Street, West Rainton,; 8th Durhams, killed in action at Ypres. 24th June, 1915, after 1 year’s service; aged 27, (leaves widow and one child).

James Morrison is remembered in West Rainton on W113.02 and W113.05, at Durham in D47.156b page 254, and in The DLI Book of Remembrance page 163
