In St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 40083 Private R.H. Taylor, serving with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) who died 28/10/1916.

The Blaydon Courier 29/10/1921 carries the following:

"In loving memory of Private Robert Heslop Taylor, 40083, 2nd West Yorks., who died of wounds received in action, Rowen Hospital, France, 28th Oct. 1916. 'Gone. but not forgotten'. Ever remembered by his loving widow.

He is remembered at Dipton on D46.02
