The Whitley Bay Observer 28/11/1919 reports the annual speech day at the Whitley and Monkseaton High School.
The final paragraph states:
“Messrs. Willott, Worsley, Young and Gates have been demobilised during the year, and are again at work in the school . . . . The school owes a great debt of gratitude to Miss Dodd, Miss Neligan, Miss Redman and Mr. Vine, who replaced the masters called up for service, and enabled the school to carry on.”
