The staff of Messrs. Lockhart held a social and dance to commemorate the return of the male employees from the colours, in the Banqueting Hall, Jesmond Dene, last evening. Mr. H.B. Lockhart welcomed the returned men, and presented 32 of them with souvenirs. Mr. J.C. Graham (managing director) said that of the 53 employees who enlisted, 51 had returned safely, and two had made the supreme sacrifice. A large company was present and dancing was enjoyed to the strains of Mitchell's orchestra. Mr. C.L. Smith acted as M.C."
