Proposed memorial for Council Chamber
The Northern Echo of 30/11/1993 reports that Stockton Borough Council were to consider placing a Roll of Honour in the municipal buildings in Church Road. It would contain the names of council workers who fell in both world wars and Korea. The authority was appealing for names.

The idea came from John Wetherall, former assistant superintendent of the markets.

Bill Fox, the first superintendent, was killed as he manned the guns of a Fairey Battle aircraft over France in 1940.
Mr. Wetherall's successor at Stockton, Albert Snow, was shot down on a night bombing mission to Duisberg. His name does not appear of the Cenotaph or in the Parish Church memorial.
