"Stockton War Heroes.
Deputations were received on Tuesday at the Town Hall, Stockton, by the Mayor's Advisory Committee, of representatives of the local branch of the D. and D.S., and the medallists of the town, and a discussion took place on the administration of the War Heroes Fund.

The original intention was to give the medallists a banquet, a certificate, and £5 each out of the fund, but the banquet was postponed as the result of the ex-servicemen's protest last week.

After hearing the deputations, the committee decided that the fund should be distributed in accordance with the original idea except for the banquet. Each medallist will receive a certificate and a proportionate share of the fund."
