Memorial Description

Plaque set into a wood frame. There is a border of leaves in red. The names are listed in three columns in Roman capitals for the dedication and sans serif capitals for the names.

Brass in light oak frame.

To the glory of God / and / the imperishable memory of the young men of this / congregation who gave their lives in the Great War / 1914-1918

1. The plaque was placed in what was known as Heaton United Reformed Church but was renamed St.Cuthbert’s U.R. Church in October 2006.

2. Major H. Luhrs was previously Lieut.Colonel Commanding Officer of the Battalion in France.
