Monument with slight pyramid top 28 inches high on plinth 8 inches high. The monument is 18 inches wide x 18 inches deep. The dedication is on one face, the names are carried on two other faces, all in Roman capitals.

1. The Commonwealth War Grave Commission placed this memorial in Birtley Cemetery when Elisabethville Cemetery was overgrown and the original Belgian headstones were removed. In 2016 the headstones in Elisabethville Cemetery were replaced.

Belgen Maken Bommen by Dirk Musschoot published in Belgium 2016 tells the story of the Birtley Belgians. Written in Belgian it carries many photos. Dorothy Hall has a copy.
