Memorial Description

Plaque set in a wood frame approx. 4 feet 6 inches high x 4 feet 6 inches wide. At top right is a shield bearing (left) the arms of the ancient kingdom of Northumbria and in top right is a similar shield bearing the ?school badge, both shields set within a wreath. There is a raised border outlining the panel bearing the names, which are listed in two columns. Lettering is in raised Roman capitals throughout.

1. Berwick Grammar School Governors Meeting 10th May 1949 reports on the “very impressive service which had been held on Sunday April 24th 1949 at the unveiling of the School Memorial Tablet”

2. Berwick Advertiser 28/04/1949 reports that Rev. Wilfred Hudson of Wallsend and Rev. Russell Brown of Ceres Fife both old boys of the school were in attendance.
