Memorial Description

Plaque, very ornate, of unusual shape,. The pattress is of light oak. At the very top is a figure.
Below this along the top is a narrow panel featuring, at centre, five horses in relief charging at the onlooker, with a cannon on each side of this group. To right and left are kneeling troops, seven each side, with guns pointing. There is another single horse at the extreme outer edges. There are enamelled miniatures of Lord Roberts and Lord Kitchener.
Below this again is an elaborate brass plate bearing the dedication. On each side are two enamelled scenes and a portrait.
A very plain brass plate is below this, set in a sunken panel inside a very plain moulded frame, with patterns raised in half relief on each side. The names are listed in four panels in sans serif capitals, but set out very ornately. Lettering is blackened with red headings.
A badge is superimposed on the upper and lower adjoining edges of these two plaques. It has a blue enamelled background.
Below the main panel is the royal crest also in brass.
The whole plaque is set behind glass.
