Memorial Description

Plaque with carved top. Underneath, on the top frame are the words “Roll of Honour” painted in Roman gilt capitals. Below this, on the main panel, is the list of names incised and gilded in sans serif capitals.

Notes

1. It had been proposed, when the school closed, that the War Memorial tablet be put into the church, but the vicar refused on the grounds that those listed "might include Roman Catholics" (Comment by Mrs. Trevelyan). Later confirmed by a relative of the vicar who said that he "hated Catholics".

2. When the school closed, the building was used to brood pheasants.
