Memorial Description

Plaque, 1.04m (3 feet 5 inches) high x 1.14m (3 feet 9 inches) wide, with ornamental dome at centre top. This is filled with a profile portrait set within a laurel wreath with flowers and fruits carved on either side. A ribbon runs through with the words “Secondary School” incised. The main central plaque is rectangular with raised border. The names are listed in three columns, lettering incised using sans serif capitals. At centre bottom is a rectangular cartouche containing the dates.

1. This building was a private mansion on the outskirts of town. 1914-18 it was the Secondary School, became the Grammar School and is now the Sixth Form College.
