Memorial Description
Plaque, 2 feet high x 1 foot 4½ inches wide. It has a slight domed top, underneath which is the badge of the Salvation Army with sprays of leaves on either side, and the words "For God, King and Country" beneath.
Down the sides are two Celtic knot patterns, four in all, over which are the words "Saved" (top left); "Suffered" (bottom left); "Sacrificed" (top right) and "Triumphed" bottom right. Halfway down each side there is a shield bearing a Union flag (left) and a star (right).
Along the bottom is the quotation, and centre bottom is a laurel wreath encircling a cross and crown. The lettering at top, sides and bottom is in Roman capitals. In the centre panel, the lettering is in sans serif capitals.

Notes
1. The plaque was placed on the wall above where the late member sat on the platform while playing in the band.
2. The building is now the Seaton Delaval Arts Centre.
3. The plaque was removed when the Salvation Army vacated the citadel c2006. The plaque was taken by a relative for safe keeping and has now been returned for placing back in the building for rededication in January 2011.
