b. Unveiled November 1952 by Viscount Gort, MC, TD, and dedicated by Rev. Can R.H. Tillard.

Memorial Description

Plaque. Four tall white marble panels bear the names, with above them, a half domed panel bearing the dedication, with cross above. The whole is surrounded and divided by red marble. The lettering is in black Roman lettering for the names and Gothic lettering for the dedication.. The names are listed according to township.
The panels and border have been lengthened to carry the names for 1939-45, the dates being carried on the inserted horizontal cross piece of white marble above the names.

Diocese of Durham
(1) Faculty to erect the memorial had been issued on 21/06/1921
(2) Faculty number 3529, issued 20/09/1952 to extend the existing memorial by about 12” and adding 20 names from 1939-45
