Unveiled February 21st 1920 by Mr. Malcolm Dillon in place of Lord Londonderry.

Memorial Description

Roll of Honour 2 feet high x 1 foot 6 inches wide behind glass in a carved gilded frame 3 feet 2 inches high x 2 feet 4 inches wide. There is a border of leaves. At centre top is a circle containing the initials “N.S.C.” with flags on either side. At centre bottom is a laurel wreath bearing the dates as “1914,5,6,7,8”. The lettering is printed in blue and red.
The names are listed in six columns. At the bottom is a hand-drawn signature and date of the unveiling.

Notes

1. Malcolm Dillon was at the Londonderry offices c 1920

2. From the club, 266 members served, 28 were killed, 2 died of wounds, 1 died of disease. Three members were awarded the Military Medal.

3. Lord Londonderry had been invited to perform the unveiling but was unable to attend.

4. The Comrades of the Great War, membership approx. 260, had converted a former Army hut into a club house which was opened by Lord Londonderry in January 1920. He also sent a billiard table which had formerly been at Seaham Hall Hospital.
