Memorial Description

Reredos panelling behind altar. Each panel has a filled traceried top. Names are listed in a single column on each, the letters incised and blackened with red initials using Roman capitals throughout.

1. The Committee were adamant that only freewill offerings were suitable, their argument being that the men had given their lives freely and willingly, and any memorial in the Church to their memory must be given in like manner

Morpeth Herald 23/09/1921 reports the closure of the fund in October, and that £60 still had to be raised

Northern Echo 15/12/1921 reports £150 total received so far.

Newcastle Daily Chronicle 15/09/1921 reports fund raising to be closed at end of October.
