Memorial Description
Plaque, circular, approx. 2 feet diameter. At the top is the badge of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, in gold half relief. The dedication is in fancy Roman upper and lower case lettering around the circumference, and the details are in Roman capitals in the centre.

1. Fusilier Leech was one of three Fusiliers from the North-East killed in the so-called "friendly fire" incident in which seven British Troops were killed by an American jet pilot who mistook their convoy for enemy.
2. “Gulf tragedy A jury returned a verdict of unlawful killing after an inquest into the death of 20-year-old Prudhoe soldier Kevin Leech, who died when his armoured vehicle was hit by American bombs during the Gulf War”. Hexham Courant 24/05/2002.
