Original Location

Methodist Chapel.

Present Location

Following the closure of the Methodist Church, these were housed in the Village Hall until it was sold in 1992. Then in the hands of T.W. Batey, former Parish Councillor, who succeeded in placing the memorials in the local Working Men's Club in March 1993

Unveiled Sunday March 1st 1920 by Rev. J.G. Hodgson, Hexham.

Memorial Description

Plaque 3 feet x 2 feet with dome at centre top, on a pattress which echoes the shape. There is a wide border of oak leaves and flowers.. At centre top is a cross enclosed by a laurel wreath. The lettering is in Roman capitals, apart from the quotation at the bottom, which is in Gothic script.
