Notes

1. In 2010 there are plans for the Northumbria Police to build on the site of the Goods Yard.

2. This plaque was unveiled in the Literary Institute, Forth Banks.

3. It had been proposed at one time to erect a memorial in a central position in Newcastle, but this fell through in favour of the Railway Company’s intention to build a memorial in York. However, it was agreed to proceed with the Roll of Honour in memory of the staff of three goods stations.
