Memorial Description

Plaque. A central marble slab inside an ornamental surround, mounted on wood panel on wall. The stone surround has a classical design with a gable top, and measures 59 inches high x 35 inches wide. The details of the erection of the monument are on a flat surface beneath the gable top, in sans serif capital letters which have been placed on and painted black. The central panel is a plain rectangle, 27 inches high x 15½ inches, with the names listed in a single column. The lettering is in Roman upper and lower case, with the title in sans serif capitals.

Notes

1. It would seem that the whole central plaque for 1914-18 was removed and replaced with one covering 1939-45 as well. There is no join, the plaque is integral.

2. Following the closure of the club, this was in the library for a while, then went missing. It was found and relocated in the sports ground area in 2015.
