Memorial Description

Plaque of cast bronze with half-dome at centre top, mounted on a very plain rectangular oak base, approx. 3 feet high x 4 feet wide. The dome is formed by a wreath of leaves. Down each side are carved pillars of classical style, entwined with laurel leaves. At centre top is the burning bush, emblem of the Scottish Presbyterian Church, with its motto "Nec tamen consumebatur" ("But it was not consumed") in a semicircle above it. On either side of this are the dates "1914" and "1918" with the dedication below. The names are listed in two columns, beneath which is the quotation from Hebrews. All design and lettering is raised in half-relief, cast in the moulding, with all lettering in serif capitals.
