Dedicated August 1920 by Bishop of Newcastle.

Memorial Description

Panels on either side of the organ, three to the left, and three to the right. The panels have carved tracery at the top. The names are listed on the four inner panels, in a single column on each, with the dedication prayer on the extreme left panel, and the quotation on the extreme right. All lettering is black Roman, with red initials.

Lord of mercy and of love / we remember before Thee / the men of this parish / who fell in the Great Crusade / 1914-1919.
They shall not grow old as / we that are left grow old, / Age shall not weary them nor / the years condemn. / At the going down of the sun / and in the morning / we will remember them.

1. The memorial was to include "embellishment of the organ front by the addition of decorative silvered pipes".

Newcastle Daily Journal 24/08/1920 reports erection of memorial which was dedicated by Bishop of Newcastle.

Diocese of Newcastle Faculty No.651, 20/02/1920 Faculty has "God of mercy" instead of "Lord."
