Unveiled October 10th and 11th 1920 by Colonel Sir Thomas Oliver, M.D.

Memorial Description

Two stained glass lancet windows of a single light each, together entitled "The Angel of the Resurrection".
The left hand light depicts the angel with the two Marys, and the text "He is not here" at the bottom.
The right hand light depicts an angel with right arm pointing upwards and the text "He is risen".
These are accompanied by a brass plaque, which has a patterned border and a Maltese Cross in each corner. The dedication is at the top, incised and painted black using serif capitals. Halfway down is a laurel wreath with a crown in its centre. The names are listed underneath this in two columns, using sans serif capitals. At the bottom is the quotation in Gothic upper and lower case.

Memorial windows designed and executed by Messrs. Atkinson Bros., New Bridge Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. Brass mural plaques designed and executed by Edward H. Thew, Dean Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Notes

1. It is reported that 178 people connected with the Church and Sunday School at Bainbridge were engaged in active service, of whom 23 did not return.
