Memorial Description
Bookcase 182.5cm high x 122cm wide by 39cm deep with 2 glazed doors and five adjustable shelves,. A plate on the side gives the name of the maker.
At the top, in the centre front, is a small silver plaque 4cm high x 10cm wide bearing the inscription in Roman capitals. It bears the maker's mark "R.P.", the London Assay office mark of the Lion Passant and the Leopard's Head, and the Date Letter B for 1937.

The maker of the cupboard was The North of England School Furnishing Co. Ltd., Darlington.
Notes
1. The Hexham Board School had been taken over by the County Council in 1903, so that when the bookcase was given the School was a Council School. The bookcase is now used to house various items of historical interest.
