Unveiled 22nd December 1920 by the Earl of Durham, Lord Lieutenant of the County.

Memorial Description

Plaque, rectangular, 5 feet 6 inches high x 7 feet 6 inches wide but with Gothic arched top at centre. There is a border of fawn mottled marble, also used to divide the plaque into four panels of white marble. In the arch at the top is a cross, carved and gilded, with the dedication below, incised using Gothic script and coloured black. The main plaque is divided into four panels, each bearing names in sans serif lettering.

Panels of Sicilian marble; frame of Red Ogwell marble from Devonshire.
