Memorial Description

Plaque with elaborate top, measuring 3 feet its highest point x 2 feet 6 inches at it widest point. There is a narrow border which echoes the shape. The names are in two columns using black Roman capitals.

Present condition

Good, except for the bottom line of lettering which is becoming faint.

Notes

1. When the faculty was obtained in 1946 for the 1939-45 memorial, permission was granted at the same time to place a shelf under this memorial.

2. One week after Whitsuntide in 1915, the congregation attended a special memorial service for George Embleton, a former member of the choir. A week earlier, on Whit Sunday, he had been killed in action in the Dardanelles campaign.
