Memorial Description

Plaque on wood pattress, 12 inches high x 20 inches wide. There is a single line border, culminating in a squared flower design incised in each corner. Lettering is in a blend of Roman and sans serif upper and lower case.

Brass on wood pattress.

Inscription

To the Glory of God and in loving memory of
William Clarke-Frost Bates,
for many years Chorister in this Church,
who fell in action in the Great War
5th September 1917, aged 36 years.

"He counted not his life dear unto himself
but laid it down for his friends".

This tablet was erected by his wife and children.
