Unveiled 26th December 1919 by Rev. E.A. Douglas, Vicar of Stockton and formerly of St.Peter's. Bishop Auckland.
Memorial Description
Plaque set on wood pattress. 33 inches wide by 21 inches high. There is a raised moulded border. At centre top is the badge of the Durham Light Infantry raised in half relief. At the foot is a sheathed sword also raised in half relief. All lettering is in raised Roman capitals.

Copper mounted on black oak.

Eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Badcock
Thornfield Bishop Auckland
who fell in the 2nd Battle of Ypres
April 26th 1915 aged 34 years.
He died the noblest death a man can die
