Memorial Description

Medals. Five cases, each 24 inches high x 60 inches wide (608mm x 1520 mm) wide on the wall, each containing four rows of medals. There are three cases in a row along the top, and two underneath, with between them the board carrying photographs of (left) father and (right) son. The details of the donation are in a plain black frame between the two cases in the bottom row.

Inscription

The Foster Collection
The five panels of gallantry, campaign and long
service medals, on this wall, were presented to the
museum by
Lt. Colonel O.B. Foster, M.C., D.L.,
as a memorial to his son,
Lt. Colonel K.O.N. Foster, D.S.O., O.B.E.,
who was killed while commanding the 1st Battalion,
Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, during the battle of
the Imjin River, in Korea, in April 1951.
