Memorial Description

Plaque 36 inches high x 15 inches wide (914mm x 381mm) set behind glass in an oak frame 3 inches (76mm) wide. There is a narrow patterned border of leaves. The title is outlined in an elaborate frame with the dates on scrolls at right and left. The plaque has been extended to cover the 1939-45 and a new frame made to surround the whole. The names are listed in a single columns. The lettering is sans serif upper and lower case for the names and Roman capitals for the titles.

Lacquered brass in oak frame.

Notes

1. Many of these people are from wealthy families and their names appear on war memorials in several places.

2. For some reason, the surname Percy of the Duke of Northumberland, killed in 1939-45, has been omitted, with just his Christian names appearing.
