Notes

Chris Errington has sent the following information:

"My father, the late Rev. Jim Errington dedicated the plaque in the now closed Bridge Street Methodist Chapel, Cambois. The plaque is now in the archives at Woodhorn and just before he died he wrote a piece about the history of the plaque as follows:

'This is the history of the plaque. In 1947 the Cambois British Legion invited me to conduct a memorial act of worship in the Bridge Street Methodist Church to dedicate the plaque. The names read were those local men killed in the second world war. The names were familiar to me. It was a personal honour to be involved in such an occasion.
The church closed in 1956 and the plaque was transferred to the local Cambois Working Men's Club. Later in 2008 the club also closed and the plaque found a place in the Woodhorn museum.'"

Rev. James W. Errington.
