Memorial Description

Plaque. There is a single line border. At centre top is a cross. The names are listed in a single column, using elaborate capitals throughout.

To the Glory of God / and in memory of the Men who / laid down their lives for their / country in the Great War.
“Lord all pitying, Jesu blest / Grant them Thine eternal rest”.

1. “I motored to Tow Law. There I had tea with the eccentric vicar, Espin, and then dedicated a war memorial in the Parish Church.”

2. W. Charlton, who unveiled the memorial, had lost a son who is named on the memorial.
