Memorial Description

Memorial stone with curved top and two flanking wings, slightly raked. The centre slab bears the dedication with a laurel wreath at centre. The left hand wing carries the names from 1914-18 in two columns. The right hand wing carries the names from 1939-45 in a single column. Lettering is in Roman capitals for the dedication and lower case for the names.

Notes

1. The chief persons concerned with the Sherburn Village War Memorial Project, who established the fund, applied for the land, and designed the monument were John Burrell (Chairman) and Kevin Stock.

2. The two stones on either side of the memorial were added in 2014
