In Ovillers Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 22812 Private J.W. Buddin, serving with the Yorkshire Regiment who died 23/09/1916.

The Auckland Chronicle gives his initials as "J.P.W." Soldiers Died in the Great War gives his names as Joseph William.

He is remembered in Cornforth on C115.01, C115.03 and C115.07
