On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 993865 Sergeant George Daglish, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 04/06/1942.

In St.Mary’s Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
George
beloved husband of Ellen Daglish
died May 25th 1921 aged 43 years.
also Isabella daughter of the above
died Feb. 1st ?1916 aged 5 years
also George Sgt. R.A.F. their son
presumed missing June 4th 1942
aged 22 years.
also the above Ellen
died ?Sept. 9th 1971 aged 89 years.

Sgt George DAGLISH, 9938865, 254 Squadron, R.A.F. Dyce.

Killed in action on June 4th 1940 in Blenheim IV Z6027 QY-N. Lost after battle with two Luftwaffe fighters 40 miles south of Bergen, Norway, whilst on a "Bert Patrol" (Bert was the Coastal Command code name for the area between between Bergen and Trondheim). Crew as follows:
Flight Lt Thomas Wilson WARD, 86336, aged 23
Pilot Officer Robert Bruce THOMPSON, 121243, aged 25
Sgt George DAGLISH, 9938865, aged 22
