In Doingt Community Cemetery Extension is the Commonwealth War Grave of 129915 Private J.A. Pringle serving with the 18 Battalion Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) who died 21/09/1918.

Steve Betts has submitted the following:

"He was a machine gunner and received a head wound on 19 September 1918 during attacks on the Hindenburg Line. He was treated at the 20th Casualty Clearing Station in Doingt near Peronne where he died from the wounds on 21 September 1918.

Both memorials in Morpeth list two J.A. Pringles but I haven't come across any other person of that name in all my research and members of the Morpeth Antiquarian Society agree with me that it could be a mistake."

He is remembered in Morpeth on M17.01 M17.09 and M17.29
