In The Huts Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 11713 Private D.R. Patterson, serving with the 14th (Pioneer) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 24/09/1917.

Morpeth Herald 26/10/1917 carries a brief obituary:

ROLL OF HONOUR

PATTERSON.- Killed in action, September 24th, aged 26 years, Private D.R. Patterson, beloved husband of Mary Patterson, 5 Reid Street, Morpeth.- Will be ever remembered by his loving wife and child.

He is remembered at Morpeth on M17.01, M17.09 and M17.29
