Tyne Cot Memorial: Pauline Priano
Carole Fife has provided the following:
Andrew's military record shows that he was born in Kelso and enlisted in Newcastle. He appears on the Netherton Coal Company's Roll of Honour so must have worked at Netherton Colliery at some time. In 1911 Andrew and his family were living at 3 Hampton Court, Newgate Street, Morpeth and his place of birth is given in the census information as Muirdean, Roxburghshire. His wife Adeline had been born at Christon Bank in north Northumberland so it would appear that Andrew moved south over the border in search of work as a hewer in the coal mines, with children born in Ditching (Andrew 1906), Hepscott (John 1908) and Morpeth (Ellen 1910). There was a further child, Adeline J. in 1916.
He is remembered in Morpeth on M17.01, M17.09 and M17.29 and in Bedlington on B15.07
