Chambers, R., Gnr., 1943
In Chungkai War Cemetery, Thailand, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 917864 Gunner Ronald Chambers, serving with the Royal Artillery who died 21/07/1943.

He is named in the Scout Roll of Honour 1939-45 as having served with the 17th Whitley Bay Scouts.

He is remembered in Whitley Bay on W84.17 page 4 which states that he was a PoW for 3 years but returned in 1945.
