Robert was born on 9th May 1895. He was working as a store merchant living with his parents at 32, Whitley Road, Whitley Bay when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 10th November 1914.
He was posted to the Hawke Battalion until he was invalided to the UK from Gallipoli on 13th September 1915.
Robert joined the Nelson Battalion in France on 16th September 1916 and was posted as missing assumed killed in action on 13th November 1916.
Robert William Davison is remembered in Whitley Bay on W84.01 and W84.02
