On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of 240852 Private Reginald Robson, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 14/11/1916.

In the cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

died Dec. 21st 1915
aged 31 years.
Reginald, 5th Batt. N.F.
missing & presumed killed Nov. 14th 1916
aged 26 years.
Dearly beloved sons of
Thomas William & Sarah Eliza Robson
of Whitley Bay
Also the above Thomas William Robson
Departed to be with Christ May 25th 1921."Jesus said, Because I live ye shall live also."

Soldiers Died in the Great War reports that he was born in Chester-le-Street and enlisted in Newcastle.

His brother James Hymers Robson also died.

Reginald Robson is remembered in Whitley Bay on W84.01 and in W84.30 page 22 and in the Battalion Roll of Honour
