Bell, A.E., A/Smn., 1916
On the Thiepval Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/7886 Able Seaman Albert Elemore Bell, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 13/11/1916.

Colin Boyd tells that Albert was born on 16th September 1887 and was working as a clerk when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 25th October 1915.

He arrived in France on 10th July 1916 and was posted as missing presumed killed on 13th November 1916.

As Albert has no known grave he is named on the Thiepval Memorial.

His next of kin was his father, John Robert Bell, living at 38 Oxford Street, Whitley Bay.
