Angela Conroy has submitted the following from the Shields Daily News 29/05/1915:
“Mrs K Steedman, of 32 Sidthorpe Street, North Shields, has received word from the War Office, that her husband, Sergeant Richard Steedman, of the 54th Company Royal Engineers, late of Clifford's Fort, was killed in action on May 13th.”
